Gelet op de ontvangen reacties kan ik u meedelen dat het verzoek wordt gesteund door een meerderheid.
Zodra een exact tijdstip bekend is, zal worden geïnventariseerd welke leden daarbij aanwezig zullen zijn. Het gesprek zal alleen doorgang vinden indien zich daarvoor tenminste vijf leden (inclusief voorzitter) hebben aangemeld.

Ik verzoek u uiterlijk dinsdag 15 augustus 2017 om 12.00 uur kenbaar te maken of u al dan niet kunt instemmen met dit verzoek.

Dear Ms Hessing-Puts,
I am Marco Di Sabatino from the Embassy of Italy in The Hague.
I am writing to you because I would like to inform you that the Bicameral Commission against organized crime (Commissione Parlamentare Antimafia) of the Italian Parliament intends to visit the Netherlands on 26-28 September.
The Commission is composed of members of Parliament, experts and judges and is tasked to enquiry about the fight against organized crime and its international ramifications. The Commission, whose Chairwoman is Ms Rosy Bindi (Democratic Party), is peculiar in the Italian framework because it retains some specific prerogatives in dealing with the judiciary. It undertakes regular visits abroad in order to acquire useful information, strengthen international cooperation and help fight the international ramification of organized crime. In their international visits, they are interested in understanding the legal framework of the receiving country and exchange lessons learned at judicial level.
The Commission would visit the Netherlands in the days 26-28 September 2017. The visit would hopefully include: 1) a meeting at the Ministry of Security and Justice; 2) a visit to the competent Parliamentary Commissions of Security and Justice of the States General; 3) a visit to Europol and Eurojust; 4) a visit to the Port of Rotterdam (ILenT and Douane).
As per 2, the Commission would like to have a meeting with the Commission on Security and Justice of the both Chambers of the States General or, at least, with the Commission on Security and Justice of the Second Chamber. The Italian Parliamentary Commission is highly interested in raising awareness on the topic and deepening the mechanisms of parliamentary oversight on the fight against organized crime. An exchange of views and lessons learned from the Italian side might be very helpful in order to strengthen our bilateral cooperation.
Therefore, I would like to explore with you about the possibility of organizing a meeting, possibly in the afternoon of Tuesday September 26th, with your Parliamentary Commission and, hopefully, organize a joint meeting with both competent Commissions of First and Second Chamber. Do not hesitate to get in touch with me, if you need any clarification or additional information on the visit.
