Het lid Ten Broeke ontvangst Mr. Samir Morcos, Egyptian political thinker and researcher

Het lid Ten Broeke nodigt u van harte uit hierbij aanwezig te zijn.

Samir Morcos is an Egyptian political thinker and researcher. He is a co-author to the Al-Azhar "Document on the future of Egypt" and ex-assistant to former President Morsi on the topic of Democratic Transition, as the only Christian among Morsi's presidential assistants. He resigned from this appointment in November 2012, in protest against the presidential decree that granted Morsi extensive political powers.

Mr. Morcos and his wife Vivian Fouad are the founders of the Coptic Centre for Social Studies. Together, they were awarded the Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson Awards from the Norwegian Academy of Arts and Freedom of Expression for the promotion of relations between Muslims and Christians in 2004. Currently, Mr. Morcos is among others a member of the National Council for Human Rights and a member of the Scientific Decision Support Committee of the Egyptian Cabinet.

Naast de heer Morcos zal ook de ambassadeur van Egypte in Nederland: H.E. Taher Ahmed Hanafi Farahat bij het gesprek aanwezig zijn.
